Hi, I'm Rachel.

A few years ago I could barely boil water.

True story.

Determined to be a kick ass wife, I developed a love for football and learned to cook in my tiny Jersey City kitchen. I spend my days working in Manhattan, my nights and weekends chasing after a rambunctious toddler, and the hours in between cooking with my husband and feeding my TV habit...oh, and I blog about it all!

Welcome to my world!

Five Things Friday

Happy Friday, all! I have to take a moment to tell you a giant THANKS for all of your kind words of support on yesterday's post. Knowing that I'm not alone and that you support some healthy changes on the blog has renewed my motivation. I am ready to tackle the world today! ;)

It's Five Things Friday, and this is quickly becoming my favorite post of the week to put together. I just love picking out a few fun things from the week to tell you about - it's also a total mood booster to appreciate a few little things in life!

Flavored & Fun K-Cups

Shaun gave me a mini Keurig for Christmas and he has since filled my stash with a few fun flavors to keep it interesting...Dunkin' Donuts Hazelnut and Kahlua to name a couple! It gives coffee that extra oomph it needs to get me going.

Fuzzy slippers...with support!

I have serious foot issues - in that my feet seem to hurt me all the time - and so I always look for shoes that offer a little support. This rings true for slippers too! Shaun also gave me these sweet, cozy and comfy Tamarac moccasin slippers for Christmas. They are cute enough to wear outside and comfy enough to stand in the kitchen cooking for an afternoon. Win-win!

Biscoff Spread

I had received a jar of this deliciousness during the December foodie pen pals exchange. Admittedly with so many goodies around Christmas and New Year's, I didn't give it a proper dig-in until recently. The verdict? I am really loving the flavor! Just a little bit goes a long way. And for just 2 WW Points+ per tablespoon...I think it's totally worth it! In fact, I have a little ww-friendly dessert coming up next week to share with you, featuring Biscoff!

DIY Tortilla Chips

I am mildly obsessed with these lately! You may have seen me post about these on The Peach & The Pit a few weeks back, so be sure to head over to get the recipe. They are so easy and so worth the effort. Oh and 12 chips is only 2 WW Points+. Not kidding. I have like 1 million ideas for these guys, so stay tuned!

OPI's Suzy Says Feng Shui

I think this is my all-time favorite nail polish color. I adore blue polish and this is the perfect muted dark blue. I especially love breaking it out in the winter months. It's from OPI's Hong Kong collection of yore, but it still tops my list of fave colors. I plan to be rocking this for the weekend since we have a party tomorrow evening...and it totally works to cheer on the Giants for Sunday! Superbowl, here we come!

I hope you all have the best weekend ever! I have a few parties to attend and plan to get a lot done around my apartment!

What are you loving this week?

What are your weekend plans?

psst...It's The Peach & The Pit of the Week over on our *sister* blog! Head over to see our highs and lows this week...and share yours! Please tell us we aren't alone in having some really low lows this week!
