Hi, I'm Rachel.

A few years ago I could barely boil water.

True story.

Determined to be a kick ass wife, I developed a love for football and learned to cook in my tiny Jersey City kitchen. I spend my days working in Manhattan, my nights and weekends chasing after a rambunctious toddler, and the hours in between cooking with my husband and feeding my TV habit...oh, and I blog about it all!

Welcome to my world!

My Favorite Products Right Now

Happy hump day! We got a bit of snow overnight and I'm wishing our work day could have a 2 hour delay like local schools. Alas, it's just another regular day of the grind.

For today's What About Me Wednesday, I want to share with you some of my favorite products. I'm a big product person. I work in consumer products by day, and I am extremely brand + product loyal. So for today's WAMW, I'm rounding up some of my favorite products that I've been using of late. I may have mentioned some of these in the past, but, well...I really just can't get enough.

Almond Breeze
Is there anything it can’t do? From smoothies to baked oatmeal (stay tuned!), this is a miracle milk. It’s smooth and creamy, yet dairy and soy free. I fell off the soy milk train due to it’s funky taste. Give me almond milk any day.

Lush Shampoo & Conditioner Bars
Handmade and chemical free, I’m officially a convert to these organic hair care products. Not to mention they leave the bathroom smelling extra fab post-shower. Thanks to my sister Christine for getting me hooked on Lush!

Kiehl’s Tinted Moisturizer
When I opened no less than 5 different skin care products in my Christmas stocking (with a ‘It’s time girls!’ from Mom), I knew I’d be on my way to dewrinkled, glowing skin in a matter of months. My favorite product though? Kiehl’s Tinted Moisturizer in Light. I’m super fair and this light moisturizer not only keeps my skin even-toned and my face from looking like the undead (True Blood-style), but it also has SPF. Oh and it doesn’t look like orangey spray tan either. Bonus.

Aquaphor
It’s kind of like Vaseline. It has magical healing abilities for those of us whose lips have rebelled against the cold winter. My sister Kimberly got me hooked on this one. What can I say, the Cannons are all product obsessed.

Immersion Blender
I know I’ve spoken about this before, but it really is a miracle worker. I use mine every morning to make my on-the-go smoothies. I simply pour all of the ingredients into a giant glass measuring cup and blend away. Clean up is a snap since the metal stick part detaches and goes in the dishwasher. ‘Nuff said.

Pre-made pizza dough
It’s a dinner-saver and our go-to on every single Tuesday night since I have zumba and pilates until 9pm. For a mere $1.75, I pick up some fresh whole wheat dough from the refrigerator section of the grocery store. It's the base for this delicious meal...

Acaica Cutting Board
I really love this thing. I use it every single day. It’s super sturdy. No cracks or crevices. It doesn’t wiggle around when I use it. It’s cutting board perfection.

Capri yoga pants...for running
No rubbing or jiggling. It’s a good way to get any sort of exercise on.

Behr paint
Shaun and I have painted all of 3 spots in our new home. 2 closets and 1 bathroom. For all 3, we got down with Behr paint and primer in one semigloss. I love. Oh and did I mention that we actually used Benjamin Moore colors for 2 of the 3 (BM’s White Rain and Stonington Gray...in love with both of these colors...and Behr’s Moon Rise for our recently renovated den closet), and the people at Home Depot matched it for Behr. One good coat has been all we’ve needed in all 3 spots.

So there you have it. A little roundup of the products I've been loving of late. What are some of your favorite products?

By the by...no one paid or perked me or any of my relatives for these mentions. I honestly just love all of these products and thought I should let you all in on the secret.

I thought those shampoo bars were macaroons at first glance, LOL.

Some of my favorite products: crusty ciabatta from the bakery, my Homedics back massager on my office chair, and Sirius satellite radio. :)

I live off of that Almond Breeze:-) Trader Joe's also has an almond milk now that I'd bet is the exact same thing (same stats, etc.). I love the Khiel's moisturizer but haven't tried the tinted... might be perfect for summer.

gosh, I JUST bought unsweetened almond milk for the first time and haaated it! :( I'm anxious to try it in oats and smoothies, though.. I think if I mask the flavor it'll be fine for me. :)

Lauren, the thing I love about the tinted is that it is so slight you can barely even notice, but it evens out your skin. Especially for morning baggy-eyes or any awkward blemishes or freckles (unfortunately I suffer from all 3).

J3nn, Yes to Sirius! I love me some good tunes and Howard Stern :)

Alyssa, I don't drink the almond milk straight...ever. I should have noted that. But it's perfect in oatmeal and smoothies, even in healthy muffins. I always, always, always add a splash of vanilla extract and a packet of sweetener to oatmeal or smoothies for extra flavor!

uhh can i just say that your pizza looks DIVINE?!?!

I LOVE Lululemon Groove pants - I think I'd wear them to work if I could. I also love Giovanni shampoo and other "washing" stuff - they smell SO good, but no sufates, etc.

I love almond milk but have not tried that kind! And Aquaphor is awesome, I have super dry skin, especially in the winter, and that stuff is just amazing. Takes away all of my flakies and is great for lips too!

I kind of want that tinted moisturizer.
I should probably get some sort of SPF this summer!

I've been dying for an immersion blender -- they really work? like with frozen fruit!?

ooh and what brand of yoga/running pants do you like? I need new ones!

I love almond breeze.

I'm in LOVE with those Lush shampoo bars! I really love their products. I'm also loving anything from Orgins! Another natural based company that has really great products. I highly recommend their moisturizer.
