Hi, I'm Rachel.

A few years ago I could barely boil water.

True story.

Determined to be a kick ass wife, I developed a love for football and learned to cook in my tiny Jersey City kitchen. I spend my days working in Manhattan, my nights and weekends chasing after a rambunctious toddler, and the hours in between cooking with my husband and feeding my TV habit...oh, and I blog about it all!

At-Home Art Gala

Hi friends! It's Friiiiday! Woot!

I'm happy that the week has come to a close, but also feeling incredibly exhausted. This weekend is baking weekend with my mom which I'm pretty psyched about!

Last night, Shaun and I attended a party in our building.

It was an art gala, set up in the lobby and entry halls. Our building is a converted factory, with half of the complex still untouched from the industrial days of yore. The gala featured a photography exhibition, in which the artist captured some truly amazing photos of the unrestored parts of the building.

Our front desk area was turned into a bar...

And we ate lots of delicious finger food (like mini burgers, meatballs and baby quiche). I am not really into art so much, but I could have easily walked away with a piece last night.

I really adored the industrial vibe, the muted yet vibrant colors and the fact that the art is taken from a piece of our first home. The exhibit is up until next year, so I suppose I have some time to decide....:)

The very best part about the party was the 'ride' home...aka, walking down the hall! Shaun and I came home and fell asleep watching It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. All in all, not too shabby for a Thursday, right?

So that's all I have for you this morning :) I hope you have a fantastic Friday and rest of your weekend!

Questions of the Day:

Are you an 'art' person? I'm not, but Shaun is!

What are your plans for the weekend?
