Hi, I'm Rachel.

A few years ago I could barely boil water.

True story.

Determined to be a kick ass wife, I developed a love for football and learned to cook in my tiny Jersey City kitchen. I spend my days working in Manhattan, my nights and weekends chasing after a rambunctious toddler, and the hours in between cooking with my husband and feeding my TV habit...oh, and I blog about it all!

{Avidly Admiring} The Cozy Scarf

Happy Friday, friends! This post is so apropos for today since the weather is wet with a mix of snow, rain and sleet. Yuck.

So today I want to talk about scarves. I have so many, and yet never enough. There's nothing like a pretty scarf to up the ante on any outfit or outerwear, am I right?

My sister Kimberly introduced me to this cozy scarf from Gap over Christmas and I knew it had to be mine. Since I was feeling pretty uninspired by my winter outerwear options (I traditionally don an unexciting black wool hat, long black North Face coat and a gray pashmina-type scarf), I thought this was the perfect time to brighten it up a bit. When I found this bright blue, pink and ivory number, it was just perfect. It's nice and thick and oh-so-soft. I love bundling up on my morning walks to daycare and the office, and also sheathing myself with it on those chilly in-office days. Paired with a new, slouchy knit hat from Urban Outfitters, I actually look forward to bundling up in the morning!

What are you admiring lately?

Any fun weekend plans?
I cannot wait to spend some long overdue time with friends tomorrow. Sunday will be spent shopping and crafting for a certain someone's first birthday and watching the Golden Globes with my mom! I love awards season!
