Hi, I'm Rachel.

A few years ago I could barely boil water.

True story.

Determined to be a kick ass wife, I developed a love for football and learned to cook in my tiny Jersey City kitchen. I spend my days working in Manhattan, my nights and weekends chasing after a rambunctious toddler, and the hours in between cooking with my husband and feeding my TV habit...oh, and I blog about it all!

Five Things Friday

pretty textured scarf. I love that I can dress up my drab long sleeve tee's (just about the only tops fitting me these days) with a patterned, cozy scarf and dangly earrings.

So it's Friday...already! I love having short weeks. This weekend we've got a few things on the menu, from running errands, doing a bit of shopping (specifically for my hospital bag!), dinner with friends and possibly an early morning movie. My weekends from here on out are precious and few and so I plan to cherish every moment. Meanwhile, here are some things I'm loving this week.

murray's cheese shop; drunken goat, manchego & fig jam with sourdough bread. The ultimate New York City frommagerie on Bleecker Street provided a low key Saturday dinner spread while curled up watching Sons of Anarchy (season 4).

playing with make-up. Last week I got to have a sister date with Christine. We spent the day hanging out and she treated me to a face full of fun and gorgeous make-up.

treats from carlo's bake shop (aka the cake boss). For a post-NYE lunch date with my parents, I picked up a few boxes of special goodies, including cream puffs, cupcakes, frosted napoleons and perhaps the best black & white cookie I've ever had.

butter london holiday glitter trios. These are so gorgeous, so festive and so fun for a little New Year's sparkle, even though we spent the evening on the couch.

What are your five things this week?

This post reminds me I need to hit Murray's cheese shop again! That place is amazing! Also...how did you tolerate the insane line at Carlo's bakery? Last time I was in Hoboken it stretched all the way to CVS! You have more patience than me!

Love these five things! And I would like that cheese platter please. :) Enjoy your weekend to the fullest!
