Hi, I'm Rachel.

A few years ago I could barely boil water.

True story.

Determined to be a kick ass wife, I developed a love for football and learned to cook in my tiny Jersey City kitchen. I spend my days working in Manhattan, my nights and weekends chasing after a rambunctious toddler, and the hours in between cooking with my husband and feeding my TV habit...oh, and I blog about it all!

Five Things Friday

Happy Friday all! This week kind flew by and I can't believe it's the end of the week already. I'm not complaining! I'm excited for the three-day weekend, especially since the whole fam is heading to Penn State to see Christine and to THON with the best of 'em! Have a fantastic weekend everyone!!

THON

Just thinking about this A-mazing cause and the work that my sister has put into it over the last several months brings tears to my eyes. Proud of Christine doesn't even begin to describe it. THON is the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon - the largest student-run philanthropy in the world, which raises money for pediatric cancer (I believe last year's THON totaled around $8 million). Year-long efforts to raise money for this organization culminate with a dance marathon in which the dancers are required to stand on their feet and stay awake for 46 hours. I can't wait to be part of the experience this weekend!

Homeland

Ok. So we're a little late to the party on this one. I finally convinced Shaun to give it a try after many, many recommendations from friends. Um yeah, so we've watched 4 episodes over the last 2 evenings. Yeah, we're kind of into it.

Essie's Chastity

Though I usually lean toward dark colors, sometimes a girl just needs a little pink in her life. Especially when it's Valentine's week and I'm craving some warm weather and summertime.

Chunky Necklaces

...like this roundabout fringe necklace from Anthropologie. I love how they dress up any outfit. I really need some more of these.

Fun Kindle Covers

I don't have this specific one, but I have another cute one from M-Edge. They make reading fun.

So that's what I'm digging this week! I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

What are you digging this week?

Loved the first season of Homeland - every time I thought I had it figured out - they surprised me with a twist. Great writing.

Have fun this weekend.

Isn't Homeland addicting?! SO good, I'm so sad the season is over for now. :(
