Keepin' it Real
So.
I have a confession to make.
If you read The Peach & The Pit, you may know that I have been on and off and struggling with Weight Watchers for the last bunch of months. After the holidays, I recommitted myself to the program to try and get myself back on track to a more happy weight... for me.
I never really use the blog talk about weight, overeating or any of those issues that do tend to plague many a woman's life. It is such a personal issue and one that many struggle with, not to mention the judgement that it can invite. I always wanted TAA to be happy and optimistic and a place of deliciousness. (I still do!). Plus, don't you prefer to hear about cupcakes and Oreo bars and salted chocolate glazed blondies? (raising my hand over here!)
But.
I can't ignore the fact that since I started this blog, I've gained a few pounds. Maybe more than a few. It happens to the best of us. I feel as though as a blogger, I get caught up in creating the most exciting or decadent dessert. If I don't, I worry that you won't want to read and I'll lose you to more exciting websites and blogs.
I have always struggled with my weight, struggled to find a balance between enjoying food, pushing myself to exercise and maintaining happiness in the process. It is a struggle every.day.
I know that opening the door to body issues - numbers on the scale, how I look, how I feel - could lead to a slippery slope, but I have to keep it real up in here for you. And the reality is that I want to lose a little weight, have my clothes fit me the way they were intended, but to continue eating yummy, decadent, delicious food!
So I'm not going anywhere. I'll still be here with recipes and ramblings. But, some of my recipes are going to lighten up a bit and I plan to post these types of things only once or twice per week. I may even start including Weight Watchers Points Plus in certain recipes. I hope you're down with this. It's my mission to eat more healthfully and on-plan while still enjoying every crumb!
Questions of the Day:
How do you maintain a healthy balance?
Do you have any healthy recipes or exercises to recommend?

I think talking about it is a great way to stay on track! I am sure tons of people would appreciate WW points to go with the healthified foods!
I hear you. It's a balance I think almost all of us struggle with. I'm always looking for new lower fat/calorie recipes.
The balance is definitely a tought thing to figure out. I would love to see what healthy meals you are enjoying! a mix of healthy meals and tasty desserts is prime in my mind :)
as for health and exercise tips:
i love this blog for healthy food (and she includes WW points! woot!) www.skinnytaste.com
and for exercise i am currently obsessed with pilates. it is more fast-paced than yoga and i feel that the results are more what i am looking for. and once you get the hang of it you can do it at home in addition to attending classes :)
thank you for keeping it real with us, it is nice to know we are not alone in the search for a balance!
I think that is a great idea! you gotta do what you gotta do! Personally I am always looking for lighter version of tasty treats. Adding WW points is an added bonus!
bring it on! Love this and that you always look to keep it real :)
good luck girl! i'm all about lightened up recipes!!
I made the WW's healthy burger last night and last week,i just tossed it in the george foreman grill (as i didnt have lean mince) and i had that with lettuce/gherkins and a small serving of light mayo,i also swapped the chips for greek salad. I cant wait to see your recipes,im really looking forward to them :)
Bring on the lightened-up recipes!!
I think this is great! Since I eat so many cupcakes for my blog, I always try to lighten it up during my day-time meals. I'll be excited to see what you post and look forward to trying new things. Good luck on your journey! (Also, I think adding the WW points is a great idea. I know so many women who would really appreciate that and for those who don't really care, it won't get in the way of an amazing recipe or review.) :)
I can definitely relate! All the baking makes it very difficult to maintain or lose weight (which I need to right now). I would love to see some lighter recipes here... and to see the WW points!

There's nothing that can make you look and feel healthy than eating veggies and regular exercise.
