Thursday Thoughts
1. If yesterday I felt like I was hit by a truck, today I feel like I was hit by a truck twice. And then hit with a stick.
2. I just don't feel like writing about food this morning. See above. It hasn't curbed my desire to eat food, however.
3. I kind of wish the world would go by this mantra:
4. When I grocery shopped on Sunday, I purchased 2 bags of Fresh Express Spring Mix Salad. One of the bags was completely normal, filled with beautiful, colorful lettuce. One of them wasn't.
One of these things is not like the other...Thoughts on how to describe that one to the company when I call to complain? Hi, I found a large, strange and unidentifiable piece of gray plastic bag in my salad bag this morning?
5. I'm so wishing that I had a giant tray of this prepared for breakfast.
Instead I'm going to have a ginormous one of these. And I'm excited about it.
6. I also wish that laundry did itself. Don't you think that the world would just be a better place?
7. Shaun's basketball team won all of their 4 games last night. Go Team Orange Julius! I cheered them on from the couch in sweatpants while catching up on Parenthood and Bethenny Ever After. I did the mental cheer. Their team is named for their orange shirts. And it's kind of making me want an orange julius right now.
8. We went to the Yankees game on Tuesday. It was fun! It was cold. But fun!
I stayed away from the garlic fries. Last time Shaun and I had them, we sweated garlic for days.
9. Shaun and I received this in the mail yesterday. Hooray! Any tips on things to do or see in Madrid? Aside from eating lots of tapas?
10. Although I'm a whiney whinerson this morning, I'm happy it's Thursday. And happy that I'm having dinner with my good friends this evening whom I haven't seen in a few months. Now that's a way to make that hit-by-truck feeling mosey on outta here.
What are your thoughts today?
Psst...The Book Club page was updated last night! Let's talk about The Hunger Games!

oooh, madrid -- I'd recommend going to the prado and the reina sofia museum, and hanging out in the park...also, walking by the palace at night, and going into bars...and being a tourist in the plaza mayor. I miss spain -- i studied abroad there and then went back four years later with my now-husband (he proposed to me in granada, at the alhambra)
also--taking a bus from madrid to anywhere is super cheap...it's around 25 euros for a 5 hour bus ride from madrid to granada, or to sevilla or cordoba...I'd recommend taking some day trips if you're feeling up for it!
I LOVE that sign lol! I wish laundry would put itself away.
Awww, I'm sorry you're feeling like a truck bodyslammed you. I hope the rest of your week is easy coasting.
I hate to be the raving reader but that sign makes me sad. I am not rail thin but I get reamed for being skinny all the time. Little do people know that I have very low self esteem and feel unhealthy and weak. I eat....hence the food blog. I wish I had hips, boobs, and an ass...it's hard dressing a bean pole.
My hubby went to Madrid with his family not too long ago and the only thing he loved... was the tapas! haha That's all I would focus on too :)
I'm sorry Joanna! I would never mean to make anyone feel badly :( I, myself, have always struggled to keep weight off since I'm..um...naturally full-bodied? Especially in the shoulders (like a line backer) :) And I love food so it's hard to not indulge myself whenever I want without thinking about the consequences. The grass is always greener, right?
MUST visit El Reina Sofia (museum) lot's of Picasso and modern art.
Love the "no skinny bitches" sign, is that at a restaurant?
Totally understand Rachel! We're woman afterall!! You didn't make me feel badly. We all have our gripes and our insecurities. Like you said, the grass is always greener! You're awesome and beautiful! I love reading your blog every morning because you are real, you have a great sense of humor, and you talk about things other than veggies and how many different ways you can eat oatmeal (although I like reading blogs like that too sometimes!) No worries!
I'm so excited for you and Madrid! I love that sign. I wish the world would live on that motto too. PS I don't mind sweating garlic. :) Especially in the form of a fry. :)
You crack me up! My thoughts today are I am tired and I have to clean the house and the last thing I want to do is write a blog post but I know I need to because I don't have one for tomorrow and yes I am a slacker lately! Garlic fries sounds yummy though! LOL!
I may have had one of those garlic fries on Sunday also!! It was delicious, but I couldnt eat any more than few!! Carl's cheesesteak on the other hand...was OMG delicious!!! I had a case of the Wednesdays yesterday and was not HAPPY! Luckily after pulling myself out of bed for a 5:45 wake up call at the gym today, I am feeling SO much better today!
awww :( sorry you're not feeling well! hope you feel better soon! that's so crazy about the thing in your salad. you should definitely complain. that's worth some free lettuce :)
lol! i found you from joy the baker's website!
that sign is awesome.
i hope you start feeling better so i can read about your FOOD :)
oh dear, I hope you feel better soon! that 'shred' sounds intense! and i thought walking my puppy 3 times a day was a workout haha
I hope your day picks up :) and that you have a fabulous dinner with your friends!
