Good morning sunshine!
Actually, this morning I woke up to no sunshine at all...instead, it was darkness, fog and humidity. It's supposed to be almost 60 degrees in New York City today and I have to admit that I'm not really into it. I'm glad that it's not snowy or icy, but I look forward to the wintertime so that I won't be sweating on my walk to work.
I picked up some steel cut oats with dried cranberries and raisins for a hearty little treat to start the day.
This weekend Shaun and I decided to really soak up some lasts, now that almost all of our baby prep is complete. Friday night was spent on the couch watching 3 episodes of Sons of Anarchy season 4. Even with all of the TV that we watch, this show remains one of my all-time favorites. The writing is incredible, the acting top notch and staring at Charlie Hunnam for a few hours isn't the worst way to spend an evening.
On Saturday morning we were up early and off to the movies!
We have really loved having some time to hit the movies and thoroughly enjoy going to the first showing of the day. It's less crowded, less $$ and doesn't feel like it takes up such a large chunk of time. We settled in with a bag of popcorn and watched Silver Linings Playbook. I've loved Bradley Cooper since his Alias days. This one did not disappoint. Though the subject matter was a bit heavy, we both found it to be an enjoyable and easy movie to watch. I love Oscar season!
Immediately after the movie, I decided to treat myself to a {long overdue} mani/pedi while Shaun did a bit of shopping.
I went with Wooden Shoe Like to Know (teehee) from OPI's Holland collection. It's brown with a hint of purple and gold shimmer and looks just lovely as a winter shade. Since I've been unable to reach my toes in quite some time, a pedicure never felt so good!
Saturday night we were back on the couch for more SOA. Good times.
And Sunday? We continued our indulgent 'lasts' weekend with a stop at the Brownstone Diner in Jersey City for...what else?...pancakes!
On Sunday evening, I spent the night with my mom and sister Kimberly watching the Golden Globes. I always love seeing the fashion the most and there were some serious knockouts last night! I thought Clare Danes was stunning (maybe I'm biased though, since she just gave birth about a month ago!). Other favorites included Jennifer Lawrence, Tina Fey (that blue dress! amazing!), Jennifer Garner and Zooey Deschanel.
And that brings me to this dreary Monday...though I think the sun might be trying to come out! Here's hoping!
Have a great week everyone!
How did you spend your weekend?
What great movies have you seen lately? We also saw Django Unchained last week and LOVED it!
Who did you love at the Golden Globes last night?
